Cosworth Vega, great concept, semi-bad execution. Cosworth engine was still not powerful enough to get that heavy-bumper car moving fast, really short first gear and normal-ratio 2nd gear without syncros made shifting...interesting, and they command an unreasonably-high price over a Vega even though it's not much of an improvement.

Cosworth Vega's are highly collectable, a far cry from a standard crap Vega. My friends had two, a black 1975 and a white 1976, I went with one friend to the Chevy dealership to pick up the white one, for a 4cyl car back then it was pretty fast. DOHC 16valve engines were high tech then, but the mechanical fuel injection sucked, most replaced it with Weber carbs.

Yeah, that's the factory header.

"it's not much of an improvement" You just don't know, They had upgraded suspension with a torque arm in the rear, upgraded brakes, wheels, tires and 3.73 gears. The Cosworth even got superior rust proofing, that's why they're still around today. Standard Vega's rusted out in a few years. Oh, and don't forget about that hand built engine!
